Gazing into Life:

Here I sit at my kitchen table, staring out into the sky of the world beyond my window; a full 180 degree view. Today has been such a very interesting day, and I'm sure days like these come very few and far between. It's an unsettling yet deeply satisfying elixir of happiness, ecstatic-ness, wonder, awe, intrigue, insight, momentous, vision, and, yet, I have strange craving for more of... more of I'm not sure. But something. Something is not quite finished, or perhaps is just beginning. That's the fun of it all. And perhaps that's one of the many pieces of the colorful kaleidoscope that comes together to form my daily life, that makes me wake up, every morning, ready for the day–and pleasantly say to myself, in my head: 'Hello world! It's a brand new day; the sun the shining. Let's go!'

How wonderful it is to be alive. The world, is just so exciting. And, as an added bonus, it spins.

John does Berlin (Yet Again):

I was in Berlin most of last week and I return to the previously-divided city today. Last week's trip to was filled with mind-expanding conversations, countered by endless reflections on my life as I strolled through the streets of Berlin; pondering where my going, where I'm headed, and what's next. I was incredibly sick this past weekend, and I still feel not so hot. But to Berlin I go, and back to Amsterdam tomorrow I shall return. Berlin, see you soon.

John does Berlin (Again!):

Some days I feel as if I completely know what it is I'm doing. While at other times I feel as if I can't slow down long enough to reflect on my life. Many exciting events have happened to me over the past month or so; many of these exciting events have taken place in Scandinavia, and many have not. Amsterdam is drifting between gray and cold, and sunny and spritey–but on any one day the weather could be both of the above situations, with one never sticking around for longer than a day, if that. I have almost forgotten that it is supposed to be summer, at this moment. And the thought of needing to wearing warm-weathered clothes is not yet a reality. Where is summer? I am going to Berlin today and will return to Amsterdam on Thursday. In the days between now and my return I plan on strolling the streets of Berlin, gathering my thoughts along the way. With a bit of luck, when I return to Amsterdam I'll once again be able to sit on my over-sized towel, at the beach, staring out over the North Sea to the endless possibilities beyond.
